Frequent Asked Questions

Who is eligible to join?
Any person sixty years of age or older may become a member and their spouse, regardless of age. Circle of Friends also opens some of the activities,, exercise classes, yoga, and computer classes, to younger adults. Call a center for more details on eligibility or participation.
Is there a membership fee?
No. Circle of Friends is funded by two sources. 1.) We receive a partial grant from the Beaver County Office on Aging to provide senior center programming. 2.) Circle of Friends depends on the donations from the center participants to help with programming costs. Each site has a donation box and requests daily donations. The money collected helps with some operational costs and is what determines the availability of programming. Included in the donation is a lunch, if the participant chooses. All participants in the center are encouraged to help support the center. Without client donations, the programs can not be maintained.
How often do I have to attend?
Member decide the days they want to attend based on the activity schedule and their personal interests. Some members attend twice a month, some three times a week, some everyday.
How can I join?
Simply call the senior center of your choice and tell the friendly volunteers that you will be coming in for the first time. All sites operate on a reservation system and advance reservations are required for meals.
